    Northamptonshire County Council has become the first local authority in the region to achieve Carbon Trust Standard certification in April 2009, and has been recertified in 2010 and in 2011, for successfully measuring, managing and improving carbon efficiency across all operations, including schools, by 8.3%. Our Energy and Carbon Management Team’s mission is to save our staff and organisation [plus the residents of Northamptonshire and the world] as much money as possible from their use of energy.     The Higher Education Funding Council for England distributes public investment for teaching and research to universities and colleges and promotes higher education. It is pleased to be sponsoring the SEED project as a pathfinder for universities and colleges in leading sustainable development in the local and regional community.
